Etonbury Academy

Personal development

Personal development is a key aspect of the ETA curriculum, helping to develop the person as well as the learner.  Personal development can be seen in a variety of ways, such as pupils joining the student council, taking part in work experience or leading on 'in-school' initiatives that are for the benefit of other pupils.

As well as additional opportunities, at Etonbury we ensure every pupil has access to develop as a person through timetabled academic lessons and form times activities that solely focus on personal development.  Personal development during these sessions focusses on developing pupils' understanding of PSHE (personal, social, health and economic education), RSE (Relationship and Sex Education), and Citizenship/British Values.

The three main themes that run through PD lessons are: Wellbeing, Relationships, and Living in the Wider World.

Please see the attachment below to see the coverage of these themes across year groups and key stages.
